What a drag. The OCR capability of ReadIris (advertised as one of the best pieces of software for handling asian languages) in terms of kanji/kana is less than satisfactory, i.e. it sucks major balls. Looks like I'm gonna have to do this the old fashioned way. Never send a machine to do a man's job. In all likelihood a working machine translation system (or at least a character recognition system) for dealing with the argot of methane-based alien invaders will be developed way before a similar system handling Japanese language.
Continuing on the disappointing note - The aforementioned storm turned out to be not even a shower. A cockroach pisses more than that. Not even starting on the absence of lightning and thunder. Seriously, WTF?
